E4 has commissioned a Little Gem gameshow that challenges hungover contestants to complete outrageous challenges based on their antics from the night before. Presented by Matt Richardson and Ken Cheng, The Hangover Games leads its unsuspecting contestants to believe that they are taking part in a documentary about British nightlife until they are challenged the next morning to compete against each other to win a cash prize.

Each game will test their memories of the night before as well as their stamina, clear thinking, emotional stability and stomachs.

The 10 x 30-minute format was commissioned by C4 factual entertainment commissioners Becky Cadman and Ian Dunkley, while Kate Maddigan and Ben Gale from Little Gem will exec producer duties. “This anarchic series is sure to resonate all too well with a party-loving E4 viewer and guaranteed to provide some laughs along the way,” Cadman said.

Maddigan claimed that the production team has met some the UK’s biggest party animals.

“We can’t wait to share the laughs, stunts and sometimes shockingly outrageous moments with the E4 audience,” she added.

A second Little Gem show, How to Lose Weight Well, has also been recommissioned for a fourth series and a summer special. Dr Xand van Tulleken and chef Stacie Stewart will be joined by newcomer Dr Helen Lawal, a Yorkshire-based GP who has set up a network of lifestyle clinics and wellness centres. The 5 x 60-minute series show was commissioned by Vivienne Molokwu for Channel 4 Features and is executive produced by Kurt Seywald and Ben Gale for Little Gem.
